Historic Transfer of Management functions relating to Amboseli National Park to the County Government of Kajiado.

During the Maa Cultural Festival held in Amboseli, Kajiado County, H.E. President William Ruto officially handed over the management functions of Amboseli National Park to the County Government of Kajiado, as formalised in Gazette Notice No. 15230 "Deed of Transfer of Management Functions Relating to Amboseli National Park from the National Government to the County Government of Kajiado."

This landmark transfer marks a major step in advancing the spirit of devolution, empowering local communities to take a leading role in the management, conservation and sustainable use of natural resources within their region.

As mandated by the Constitution, IGRTC played a vital role in facilitating the consultative and technical processes that made this successful transfer possible; a true reflection of cooperation and coordination between the two levels of government.

The handing over was done in the presence of IGRTC Chairperson CPA Githinji Kiragu and the CEO, Dr. Kipkurui Chepkwony, among other stakeholders.
